Abstract
Lighting and interior design play a fundamental role in theatrical performances, extending beyond aesthetics to enhance the director’s vision and effectively convey emotions and meanings to the audience. The research problem lies in the limited studies exploring the impact of integrating lighting and interior design on capturing the viewer’s attention and deepening their understanding of dramatic events. Ineffective coordination between these elements can weaken both visual and functional interaction, ultimately affecting the quality of the theatrical performance. This study aims to examine the role of lighting and interior design in improving visual and functional interaction in theater, highlighting their combined effect on creating dramatic atmospheres and enhancing audience engagement. It also focuses on the play Mabrouk Million as an applied model to analyze how these dramatic elements are employed and how lighting and interior design influence the viewer’s visual and psychological experience, ensuring a more cohesive directorial vision. The research adopts an applied and analytical methodology through an in-depth study of the play, assessing the impact of lighting and interior design on visual interaction. Additionally, an exploratory approach is employed to investigate various techniques used in stage design and how visual elements can be integrated to reinforce the dramatic meaning. The findings reveal the integration. This was particularly evident in Mabrouk Million, where strategic lighting was employed to emphasize the progression of events, and scene design played a crucial role in enhancing both visual and psychological interaction, making the theatrical experience more compelling and persuasive in delivering the dramatic message.
