Abstract
Interior design is not an art purely abstract from the requirements and aspirations of individuals, but rather aims to meet their functional and psychological needs, in addition to the aesthetic formulation represented in visual and plastic value. Design is a unique creative process carried out by the interior designer, relying on his experiences, skills and emotions to express his design vision through Employing shapes and lines and organizing mass and space to achieve the function in an aesthetic image. Criticism in interior design is one of the important elements affecting the interior design system as it is considered a tool for developing the interior designer’s thought and design output, because of its fundamental impact on the design process besides being Effective and influential activity in the creative movement.Through the research study, it is clear that criticism is an interactive reciprocal relationship that depends on three basic elements: the critic, the design product, and the designer, which results in a dialogue between the critic and the designer to derive the best design solutions. Design criticism occurs as a result of perception, taste, interpretation and analysis of the idea and the elements. The research aims to highlight the importance of criticism in interior design and its practice to enrich and develop design thought in order to contribute to pushing the creative design movement and rooting and developing the design product. The research also includes clarification of the interaction between criticism and interior design, and to show the relationship Between the critic, his philosophical thought, his environment, his culture, his intellectual orientations, and other factors affecting the formation of his thought and opinions.
