Abstract
HD-Flexo technology achieves high print quality by combining two components, high resolution recording (4000 dpi) and a special screen dot production algorithm that makes smooth transition to zero in Gradient and clearer text recording. Lines and specific screen points are more visible, in addition to the intensity of color in solid areas, which positively reflects on the correct translation of the design artwork.
In this paper, researchers will address the differences between traditional digital Flexo plates processing technology and HD Flexo technology and its effect on increasing the range of tones that can be printed.
The research aims to analyze and compare print quality differences between regular and high-resolution HD FLEXO digital surface processing techniques.
The researchers used the descriptive analytical approach and the experimental approach, by preparing and printing samples of flexible packaging materials in a high-resolution flexographic printing method and simulating the design production on the uncertainty unit through the VPS (Virtual Proofing System) for printing in the traditional digital flexography method to study and analyze the differences in translating the elements of the print design.
The researchers concluded that it is necessary to take into account the correct use of the high-resolution digital Flexo technology with the production capabilities and anilox of the printing presses according to the design conditions, which opens new horizons for freedom of creativity in the design artwork, whose elements are translated in a correct manner comparable to offset and rotogravure printing.
