In open urban spaces, digital techniques have contributed to changing the course of sculpture and bringing sculptural works out of the crucible of traditional conception into a space of spacious renewal. By empowering the sculptor – designer to create contemporary concepts that keep pace with the massive information revolution, he was able to soar towards the future, leaving behind all the limitations that restricted his creative process, allowing him to soar forward.
The modern sculptor's work in the open urban spaces has been enriched by digital techniques, which have introduced several elements and developments that have made the sculptor's fertile imaginations a reality, since there are no limitations on implementation mechanisms.
This research includes a presentation of digital techniques such as virtual world techniques, mechatronics techniques, light techniques, modeling techniques, formatography techniques, phantom technology, and artificial intelligence techniques. and their employment in sculptural works in open urban spaces through virtual sculpture experiments in virtual urban environments, and through 3d designs that are modeled with design programs specialized in the field of sculpture and then produced using digital technologies such as 3d printing or CNC machines, and also The use of digital techniques as a formative or expressive medium in the structure of sculptural work.
