Abstract
Light pollution is a contemporary environmental challenge that affects wildlife and the quality of human life in cities. It has been a major focus of research to find better ways to improve the use of lighting for outdoor advertisements and reduce the resulting light pollution. The research emphasizes the importance of ensuring that lights are directed towards the ground and not into the sky or the eyes of road users. It recommends the selection of appropriate advertising fixtures that promote sustainability and minimize light pollution from roadside advertisements. The study highlights that a dark sky does not mean a dark ground and presents proposals for designs that can achieve a dark sky without compromising the visibility of advertisements. This requires meticulous lighting design and the use of innovative technology to direct light and avoid unnecessary scatter. The research concludes by emphasizing the need to increase environmental awareness and understanding of the risks of light pollution on wildlife and humans. Despite the numerous benefits of artificial lighting in enhancing social life, security, and economic productivity, it is essential to consider the negative side effects of light pollution from road advertisements and ensure compliance with regulations and laws regarding lighting levels.
