Abstract
The increase in the demand for clothing has resulted in a large amount of textile waste, which affects the environment, economy and society in many ways. The idea of recycling clothes and textiles has attracted a lot of attention, and the concept of applying circular economy principles to textile printing research emerged. This is an economic model aimed at reducing waste of materials, goods, energy, and utilizing them to reduce consumption and waste, contributing to environmental sustainability. This is achieved by reusing the solid waste resulting from digital textile printing using dry heat transfer sublimation, including used printing papers and wasted inks from digital printers to design and produce printed fabrics using a combination of manual printing techniques to create innovative effects and introduce printed designs on textiles to enrich printed fashion accessories.
This study aims to develop a new method for reusing sublimation ink waste in textile design through manual printing techniques to enhance the aesthetic and functional values of printed fashion accessories. Several experimental processes and innovative treatments were carried out to prepare unique, low-cost, and renewable printed surfaces suitable for different manual printing techniques using sublimation inks and heat transfer papers as a printing medium to create designs printed on fabrics that can be used in various fashion accessories.
