Abstract
The use of location-based applications has become necessary in a world that is fully connected to the Internet, as this service enables the user to access any site. Life is much easier than before, and these applications depend mainly on providing distinguished services based on the change of the user’s location while performing other tasks. Hence the need to set standards for designing the map in the application to make it easy to use, and the map is an essential pillar in the success of location-based applications, and it has become difficult to dispense with it. Among the most famous of these applications (Google Maps, Uber, Careem, Otlob, and Talabat). The problem of the research lies in studying the criteria for designing site-based application maps and their importance in enhancing the user experience. Where the research assumes that following the criteria for map design (contrast, hierarchy, and visual consistency(; It will result in the user obtaining information in a shorter time and with less effort, and increases his sense of security and supports his feeling of comfort, which enhances the user experience, by following the descriptive approach in the theoretical framework to study the criteria for designing site-based application maps and their features and factors that enhance the user experience. The findings of the research are the need to apply these criteria for designing site-based maps to achieve usability, a sense of satisfaction, and the desire to use them more than once. Hence enhancing the user experience.
