Abstract
The research aims to link the design of innovative ornaments with a distinctive surface appearance using thermal transfer printing (sublimation) on metal surfaces. The research problem is summarized in the extent to which thermal transfer printing technology can be used to enrich the appearance of jewelry. The importance of the research is to reach innovative relationships linking thermal transfer printing (sublimation) and the appearance of jewelry and employing them in jewelry of a distinctive nature. The research follows the descriptive, analytical and experimental approach. The hypothesis of the research is that the use of sublimation on metal surfaces supports the designer in enriching the appearance of jewelry. The designer's awareness of the problems of printing (sublimation) on metal surfaces supports the use of sublimation to obtain the best results. The limits of the research are the use of sublimation on minerals and their use in jewelry. The research dealt with (sublimation), the steps for its implementation, and the tools and materials used in printing on the metal surface. And the surfaces on which it is printed. The research presents the advantages of printing on metals in jewelry and presents the defects that the designer encounters when printing by thermal transfer on the surfaces of metal jewelry. The results of the experiments suggested some solutions to avoid the problems of printing on metals in order to achieve a rich appearance of jewelry.
