Abstract
Additive manufacturing technology has developed greatly in recent years, according to a report by Smartech Publishing Company, the use of ceramic additive manufacturing technologies in various industries in 2028 will reach $3.6 billion in the world, and the industries will reach a stage of maturity in 2025.
Many ceramic industries use CAD programs and 3D printing to produce prototypes to evaluate designs, but printing results are still limited in ceramic tableware manufacturing due to the type of materials like plastics and resins which makes the results unrealistic, unlike ceramic prototyping that enables to see the final product with the least time and effort.
Ceramic 3D printing techniques have characteristics that are difficult to compare with traditional manufacturing methods or even 3D printing using other materials such as plastic. Therefore, the research tries to explain the great advantages of ceramic 3D printing technology in terms of speed, reduced time and cost, high accuracy in forming, and design diversity, in addition to design flexibility and functionality.
The research shed light on ceramic tableware prototyping, provided that the research limits in the applied part are printing prototypes of tableware items through ceramic 3D printing by extrusion.
The research assumes that the capabilities of ceramic 3D printing help in evaluating the initial results of the design, dimensions, and shrinkage rates so the distance between the design and ceramic prototype can be in one step. The research relies on the experimental and analytical approach through applied experiments and then analysis to get better results.
