Furniture Design between Intellectual Stages and Artistic Trends

Abstract
Art is one of the methods which nations advance, so it is necessary to combine it with furniture design, especially, the most of the design trends arose as a result of the influence of the principles of the various plastic arts. The idea of research arose through controlling of traditional design thought on the furniture design courses, where result traditional furniture models that are displayed in the market. The research aims to monitor several experiments are taught , which students apply the fundamentals of design and use their plastic elements, to achieve productive fluency in artistic formations , in order to harmonize them with the elements of plastic furniture design. The experiments depend on the students’ visual feedback, their aesthetic sense, and their motivation to produce the largest number of two-dimensional designs, using lines in the first experiment , Arabic fonts in the second, and the Latin fonts in the third, to design many two-dimensional shapes, and through their personal imaginative and innovative response to those shapes, to transform those into three-dimensional models as innovative furniture, according to the design standards and their aesthetic and functional standards. Through the framework of encouraging, students can inspire the design of furniture pieces from elements of design fundamentals, the research concluded that artistic formations using fundamentals of design contribute to the field of furniture design positively, because of its ability to motivate the designer to produce innovative furniture designs.
