Abstract
Abstract: Psychosemiotics Science studies how humans learn to understand and use signs, focusing on dynamic sign processes rather than their relatively abstract content. It is connected to cultural environments within the evolutionary constraints of nature, with signs shaped by social, cultural, and natural contexts. The psychological aspect focuses on human perception processes, incorporating emotional, social, and cultural influences on sign. The research problem lies in the following question: Can the meaning units in cinematic images express the psychological signs of characters? The aim of this research is to conduct a semiotic analysis of the role meaning units translate psychological signs of the dramatic characters, exploring the relationship between meaning units (color and lighting) and the psychological messages conveyed through the image.
The hypothesis is that visual meaning units play a significant role in expressing psychological signs and internal emotions. Using a descriptive approach, the study analyzes how meaning units express the psychological states of characters.
The results indicate that meaning units color and lighting are key in reflecting psychological signs that convey characters' emotions and interactions.
Psychosemiotics emphasizes how meanings are formed through human perception of signs and the influence of cultural and natural environments. Psychological signs create a communication environment that enriches meaning and opens new avenues for reflection and thought for viewers. The meaning of an image results from the interconnection of semiotic elements in cinematic and dramatic images, where meaning units color and lighting help shape the character's emotions.
