Abstract
Interior design has significantly evolved with the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), presenting challenges in integrating these technologies with traditional design methods. This study focuses on employing AI in interior design inspired by the philosophy of Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, known for his use of simple geometric shapes and primary colors. The research aims to maintain the authenticity and aesthetic appeal of this artistic style while exploring the impact of AI on modern design practices. The study analyzes real-world applications of AI in interior design within Mondrian’s framework and investigates how technology can merge with traditional aesthetic principles. It seeks to enhance design efficiency, foster creativity, and balance functional and artistic elements. The integration of smart algorithms with conventional artistic concepts offers an opportunity to redefine design methodologies and open new paths for innovation. Methodologically, the research employs an inductive analysis of AI-driven interior design techniques and an applied approach to developing AI-based design models. This allows for evaluating the compatibility of AI with Mondrian’s artistic philosophy and its effectiveness in achieving harmony between modernity and authenticity without compromising artistic identity. The study also addresses challenges faced by designers in merging AI with traditional approaches, such as preserving artistic integrity and ensuring technological alignment with the designer’s vision. It examines AI’s role as a supportive tool that enhances creativity rather than replacing human designers, fostering more advanced and adaptable design solutions. Ultimately, AI contributes to creating interior spaces inspired by modern art, reflecting Mondrian’s aesthetic while expanding customization and innovation.
