Abstract
The fashion industry and its accessories are considered one of the major industries that significantly impact the global economy. Sustainability in the field of fashion accessories has witnessed a significant shift toward the use of techniques aimed at reducing negative environmental impact. Handwoven textiles relies on the use of natural materials, while zincography. thereby reducing the need for extracting raw copper. The research problem lies in examining the creative role of combining handwoven textiles techniques and zincography in the field of fashion accessories to achieve the concept of sustainability. The significance of the study is highlighted by its focus on how traditional arts, such as handwoven textiles, can be employed and integrated with zincography to develop contemporary environmental concepts, thereby contributing to the promotion of sustainable values. This research aims to develop innovative designs for fashion accessories that blend sustainability with creativity by merging handwoven textiles and zincography techniques. The goal is to strike a balance between artisanal heritage and contemporary innovation. The research assumes that by combining materials and techniques from handwoven textiles and zincography, design thinking skills can be enhanced through the development of innovative applications for fashion accessories. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical methodology and applied approach. One of the key findings of the research is the emphasis on the importance of breaking free from stereotypical design concepts, which led to the discovery of numerous artistic and aesthetic values through the integration of various materials and techniques to enrich the field of sustainable fashion accessories.
