Abstract
In light of the re-planning and rehabilitation of roads in Egypt, a number of new bridges have been constructed, near them. External factors in isolating environmental pollution (car exhaust) in the bridge from the buildings adjacent to itTherefore, it was necessary to search for alternative solutions to the commonly used concrete acoustic barriers and replace them with other transparent glass barriers that perform the same function, with a better view from inside and outside, which brings about psychological comfort for the residents of those areas. Therefore, the research tended to study the types of sound barriers - their development and evaluation of their effectiveness, with a study of the transparent types of them, especially the transparent glass barriers, the types of glass used, its properties and characteristics, and identifying the most important design criteria for designing glass acoustic barriers for bridges close to the residential areas in Cairo.Transparent acoustic barriers have become the perfect alternative to solve vision problems for vehicle drivers, unlike metal or concrete acoustic barriers with building blocks, which greatly affect the vision of drivers while walking on these roads. The transparent acoustic barrier does not prevent the continuity of vision.
