Under the patronage of his excellency, the minister of higher education, the president of Helwan University, and the vice president for graduate studies and research, the dean of the faculty of applied arts is honored to launch JDSAA; the journal of Design Sciences and Applied Arts.

JDSAA is a peer-reviewed journal that is published biannually (January and June) in English and Arabic. The journal aims to improve the quality of applied scientific researches in the different design fields in an attempt to apply international publishing standards of peer-reviewing in original scientific articles and paper reviews. The journal is committed to the highest standards of reviewing, by independent, anonymous expert referees in different design fields from all over the world guided by international publishing ethics.

The journal's scope includes many specialized scientific fields that cover all disciplines of applied arts and design sciences. JDSAA is interested in analytical, innovative, creative, and philosophical studies to present innovative contributions, which can be applied in different design products that meet international production standards and values with an innovative artistic vision. We believe that these outstanding contributions that reflect the human identity will be steps forward for decreasing the international and global problems.

JDSAA receives article submissions from established researchers, design scholars, practitioners, educators, and design managers worldwide. JDSAA also encourages new starting career researchers who contribute to design knowledge through original re-interpretations and analyses of existing works.
